Grape (grāp)

Grape is a fruiting berry of the deciduous woody vines of the botanical genus Vitis. Grapes can be eaten fresh as table grapes or they can be used for making wine, jam, grape juice, jelly, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar, and grape seed oil.

Etymology

The word "grape" is derived from the Old French word "grape", which means "bunch of grapes". The term may also have been influenced by the Old High German word "krapfo".
