Harassment

Harassment (/həˈræsmənt, ˈhærəsmənt/) is a behavior that perturbs or upsets, and it is characteristically repetitive or persistent. It is a course of conduct which annoys, threatens, or intimidates a person.

Etymology

The word is derived from the English verb 'harass', adopted in the late 17th century from the French 'harasser', itself originating from the Old French 'harer' meaning to set a dog on.
