Healthcare in Singapore (pronunciation: /ˈhɛlθkeər ɪn ˈsɪŋɡəpɔːr/) refers to the whole spectrum of health services provided by Singapore to its residents and international visitors.

Etymology

The term "Healthcare" is derived from the Old English words "hǣlth", meaning "wholeness, a being whole, sound or well," and "carian", meaning "to care for, attend to". "Singapore" is derived from the Malay words "Singa" for lion and "Pura" for city.

Healthcare in Singapore is mainly under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health. It is characterized by a unique and efficient system that combines elements of both the public and private sectors.
