Healthcare Management
Healthcare management (pronunciation: /ˈhelθˌker mænɪdʒmənt/), also known as healthcare administration, is the field related to leadership, management, and administration of public health systems, health care systems, hospitals, and hospital networks.
Etymology
The term "healthcare management" is derived from the two English words "healthcare" and "management". "Healthcare" is a compound word combining "health", from the Old English hǣlth (wholeness, a being whole, sound or well), and "care", from the Old English caru (sorrow, anxiety, grief). "Management" comes from the Italian maneggiare (to handle — especially tools or a horse), which derives from the Latin manus (hand).
