Honest Tea
Honest Tea
Honest Tea is a brand of organic bottled tea and beverages based in the United States. The company was founded in 1998 by Seth Goldman and Barry Nalebuff, a professor at the Yale School of Management. Honest Tea is known for its commitment to providing organic and low-sugar beverages, aligning with the growing consumer demand for healthier drink options.
History
Honest Tea was conceived when Seth Goldman, an MBA student at Yale University, was inspired by a class taught by Barry Nalebuff. The idea was to create a beverage that was less sweet and more natural than the existing options on the market. In 1998, Goldman and Nalebuff launched Honest Tea from Goldman's kitchen in Bethesda, Maryland.
The company quickly gained popularity for its organic ingredients and innovative flavors. In 2011, The Coca-Cola Company acquired a 40% stake in Honest Tea, and by 2011, it had purchased the company outright, allowing Honest Tea to expand its distribution network significantly.
