Imaging Informatics, also known as Radiology Informatics or Medical Imaging Informatics, is a subspecialty of Biomedical Informatics that aims to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of medical imaging services within the healthcare system.

Etymology

The term "Imaging Informatics" is derived from the combination of two words: "Imaging", which refers to the process of creating visual representations of the interior of a body for clinical analysis and medical intervention, and "Informatics", which is the science of processing data for storage and retrieval.
