International Pharmaceutical Federation

The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) is the global federation of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists and is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people around the world through the advancement of pharmaceutical education, science, and practice. Established in 1912, FIP serves as a platform for global collaboration among pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists, and the wider healthcare industry to promote the importance of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences in healthcare delivery.

History

The International Pharmaceutical Federation was founded in 1912, with the aim of bringing together pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists from around the world to collaborate, share knowledge, and advance the field of pharmacy. Over the years, FIP has grown in both scope and membership, now encompassing numerous national associations, academic institutions, and individual members.

Mission and Vision

These include clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, and pharmaceutical sciences, among others. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors, which is elected by the FIP Council. The Council consists of representatives from FIP's member organizations.

  • Providing resources and support for pharmaceutical education and research.
  • Collaborating with global health organizations to address public health challenges.
