James Martin (chef)
James Martin (born 30 June 1972) is a British chef and television presenter, best known for his work with the BBC and ITV. He has hosted several popular cooking shows and has authored numerous cookbooks.
Early Life
James Martin was born in Malton, North Yorkshire, England. He developed an interest in cooking at a young age, inspired by his family's farming background. Martin attended Amotherby School and later Malton School. His passion for cooking led him to enroll at Scarborough Technical College to study catering.
Career
Early Career
After completing his education, Martin worked in several prestigious kitchens, including Anthony Worrall Thompson's One Ninety Queen's Gate and Alain Roux's Le Gavroche. He gained significant experience and honed his culinary skills, which paved the way for his future success.
Television Career
James Martin's television career began in 1996 when he appeared on the show Ready Steady Cook. His charismatic personality and culinary expertise quickly made him a household name. He went on to host Saturday Kitchen from 2006 to 2016, a show that significantly boosted his popularity.
