Shawn Corey Carter (born December 4, 1969), known professionally as Jay-Z, is an American rapper, songwriter, record executive, and businessman. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists in history. Jay-Z is known for his innovative approach to music and his significant contributions to the hip hop genre.

Early Life

Jay-Z was born and raised in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. He grew up in the Marcy Houses, a public housing project in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. His early life was marked by hardship and exposure to the drug trade, which would later influence his music.

Music Career

Jay-Z began his music career in the late 1980s and co-founded the record label Roc-A-Fella Records in 1995. His debut album, Reasonable Doubt, was released in 1996 and is now considered a classic in the hip-hop genre. Personal Life
