Jennifer Ashton
Jennifer Ashton is an American physician, author, and television medical contributor. She is best known for her work as the Chief Medical Correspondent for ABC News and as a co-host on the daytime talk show The Doctors.
Early Life and Education
Jennifer Ashton was born on April 23, 1969, in George Air Force Base, California. She attended Horace Mann School in Riverdale, New York City. Ashton earned her bachelor's degree from Columbia University and her medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke's–Roosevelt Hospital Center.
Career
Medical Practice
Dr. Ashton is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. She has a private medical practice in Englewood, New Jersey. In addition to her clinical work, she has served as an attending physician at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
Media Career
Jennifer Ashton began her media career as a medical contributor for Fox News Channel. She later joined CBS News as a medical correspondent. In 2012, she became the Chief Medical Correspondent for ABC News, where she provides medical analysis and reports for various programs, including Good Morning America and World News Tonight.
Ashton has also co-hosted the daytime talk show The Doctors and has appeared on other television programs such as The Dr. Oz Show and The Rachael Ray Show.

Dr. Ashton is the author of several books on health and wellness, including "The Body Scoop for Girls," "Your Body Beautiful," and "Eat This Not That When You're Expecting."
Personal Life
Jennifer Ashton was married to Robert Ashton Jr., a thoracic and cardiac surgeon, with whom she has two children. The couple divorced in 2017. Tragically, Robert Ashton Jr. passed away shortly after their divorce.

Dr. Ashton has received numerous awards for her contributions to medicine and media, including recognition from the American Medical Women's Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
