John Dunsworth
John Dunsworth (April 12, 1946 – October 16, 2017) was a Canadian actor best known for his portrayal of Jim Lahey on the television series Trailer Park Boys. He was also recognized for his role as Dave Teagues in the Syfy series Haven.
Early Life
John Dunsworth was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He attended the University of King's College where he initially studied theatre.
Career
Dunsworth's career began in the theatre, where he was a prominent figure in the Halifax theatre scene. He founded the Pier One Theatre and was instrumental in the establishment of the Neptune Theatre.
Trailer Park Boys
Dunsworth gained widespread recognition for his role as Jim Lahey, the alcoholic trailer park supervisor, in the mockumentary series Trailer Park Boys. The show, which debuted in 2001, became a cult hit and ran for multiple seasons, including several films and specials.
Haven
In addition to his work on Trailer Park Boys, Dunsworth played Dave Teagues on the Syfy series Haven, which was loosely based on Stephen King's novel The Colorado Kid.
Personal Life
John Dunsworth was married and had four children, including actress Sarah Dunsworth who also appeared in Trailer Park Boys. He was known for his love of sailing and was an avid fisherman.
Death
