Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation

In 1988, Shacknai founded Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation, a company focused on dermatological and aesthetic pharmaceuticals. Under his leadership, Medicis became a leading company in the field, known for products such as Restylane and Dysport. Shacknai served as the company's CEO and chairman until its acquisition by Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2012.

Tragedy and Public Attention
