The Journal of Nutrition (jər-nəl əv n(y)o͞o-tri-shən) is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes original research on all aspects of nutrition. The journal was first published in 1928 and is currently published by the American Society for Nutrition.

Etymology

The term "journal" originates from the Old French jurnal, meaning daily. This is in reference to the regular frequency of publication for most academic journals. "Nutrition" comes from the Latin nutrire, meaning to feed or nourish, reflecting the journal's focus on the science of nutrients and how they affect the body.

Scope

The Journal of Nutrition covers all aspects of experimental nutrition. It publishes original research articles, reviews, and commentaries on the interactions between diet and health. Topics covered include nutrient metabolism, dietary supplements, nutritional epidemiology, and nutritional immunology.
