Etymology

The term "Journal of Orthodontics" is derived from the English words "journal" (from the Old French jurnal, a daily record) and "orthodontics" (from the Greek orthos, meaning "straight" or "correct", and odontos, meaning "tooth").

History

The Journal of Orthodontics was first published in 1974. It is the official publication of the British Orthodontic Society and is published by Taylor & Francis. The journal is indexed in the PubMed database and the Science Citation Index.

The Journal of Orthodontics publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports, and clinical studies in all areas of orthodontics.
