Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome - (pronounced) (klih-PEL-Tray-noh-NAY SIN-drome) A rare condition affecting blood vessels, soft tissues, and bones. It can also affect the lymphatic vessels. Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome is characterized by a port-wine stain (a red or purple birthmark caused by swelling of small blood vessels near the surface of the skin), abnormal overgrowth of bone and soft tissue, and varicose or other abnormal veins. It usually affects the legs but can also affect the arms or trunk. The Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome is present at birth
