Lincoln County, Georgia is a county located in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was approximately 7,921. The county seat is Lincolnton, which is the only incorporated municipality within the county. Lincoln County is part of the Augusta-Richmond County, GA-SC Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Lincoln County was established on February 20, 1796, from parts of Wilkes County. It is named after General Benjamin Lincoln, who served in the American Revolutionary War.
