Tequila is a distilled alcoholic beverage made primarily from the blue agave plant in Mexico. Its origins can be traced back to the 16th century near the location of the city of Tequila, which was not officially established until 1666. This is a list of some of the most notable and popular brands of tequila.

Jose Cuervo

Jose Cuervo is a brand of tequila that was established in 1758. It is the best-selling tequila in the world, with a 35.1% market share of the tequila sector worldwide.

Patrón

Patrón is a luxury brand of tequila produced in Mexico and sold in hand-blown, individually numbered bottles. Made entirely from Blue Agave, Patrón offers a variety of tequilas including Silver, Reposado, Añejo, and extra Añejo.

Don Julio

Don Julio is a brand of tequila produced in Mexico. It is the eighth largest brand in the United States by volume and the eleventh largest in Mexico.

Herradura

Herradura is a tequila distiller located in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico. It was formally founded in 1870 by Félix López and the business remained in the family for over 125 years.

Casa Noble

Casa Noble is a brand of premium 100 percent blue agave tequila produced by the Casa Noble Tequila Company. It is made from estate-grown agaves cooked in traditional stone ovens, fermented with proprietary yeast, and triple-distilled.

El Jimador

El Jimador is a brand of tequila produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico. El Jimador is owned and produced by the Herradura Tequila company.

Cazadores

Cazadores is a tequila made in Arandas in the highlands (Los Altos) of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is made out of 100% blue agave.

Corralejo

Corralejo is a brand of tequila produced in Guanajuato, Mexico. It is made from 100% blue Weber agave, and the tequila is aged in American oak barrels.

Tres Generaciones

Tres Generaciones is a premium tequila produced by Sauza, a tequila distillery that has been in operation since 1873. The tequila is made from 100% blue agave.

Clase Azul

Clase Azul is a premium 100% authentic from the tequila crafted in a small town named Santa Maria Canchesdá. Over one hundred Mexican artisans go to work meticulously handcrafting each bottle.
