It borders the London Borough of Barnet to the west, the London Borough of Haringey to the south, the London Borough of Waltham Forest to the southeast, along with the Borough of Broxbourne in Hertfordshire to the north, and the Epping Forest District in Essex to the east.
History
The borough's history dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was part of the ancient parish of Enfield. The area became significant for its connection to the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield Lock, which was a major employer and contributed to the area's growth during the Industrial Revolution. The London Borough of Enfield was established in 1965 by the amalgamation of the former municipal boroughs of Enfield, Southgate, and Edmonton, under the London Government Act 1963.
