Lyndhurst, New Jersey is a township located in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As part of the New York metropolitan area, it is situated approximately 10 miles west of Manhattan. Lyndhurst was originally formed as Union Township on February 19, 1852, from portions of Harrison Township. On May 15, 1917, the area was reincorporated as the Township of Lyndhurst, named after the Lyndhurst Estate in England, reflecting the town's early British influence.
