MTS - A rare, inherited disorder that causes tumors to form in the sebum glands of the skin and at least one internal organ. The skin tumors can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous) and usually appear on the face, scalp and eyelids. The internal tumors are malignant and usually form in the gastrointestinal tract (particularly the colon and rectum) or in the urogenital tract (endometrium and bladder). MTS is caused by mutations (changes) in the MLH1, MSH2, or MSH6 gene. MTS is a form of Lynch syndrome. Also called Muir-Torre syndrome
