Michael Klaper

Michael Klaper is an American physician, author, and internationally recognized educator in the field of plant-based nutrition. He advocates for a whole food, plant-based diet as a means to promote health and prevent chronic diseases.

Early life and education

Michael Klaper was born in Chicago, Illinois. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his medical internship and residency at the University of California, San Francisco.

Career

Klaper has practiced medicine in several capacities over the years, including as a staff physician at the TrueNorth Health Center, a nutritionally-based medical clinic in Santa Rosa, California. He has also served as a consultant to NASA’s programs for long-term space colonists on the Moon and Mars.

Klaper is known for his expertise in plant-based nutrition and its impact on human health. He has lectured extensively on the subject, including at the World Vegan Summit and the International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine.

In addition to his medical practice, Klaper has authored several books on plant-based nutrition and health, including "Vegan Nutrition: Pure and Simple" and "Pregnancy, Children, and the Vegan Diet."
