Mitch Greenlick
Mitch Greenlick (August 20, 1935 – May 15, 2020) was an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He served as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 33 from 2003 until his death in 2020.
Early Life and Education
Greenlick was born in Detroit, Michigan. He earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Wayne State University in 1957 and a Ph.D. in medical care organization from the University of Michigan in 1967.
Career
Before entering politics, Greenlick had a distinguished career in health services research. He was the director of the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research from 1964 to 1995. He also served as a professor at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
Political Career
Greenlick was first elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 2002. During his tenure, he was known for his work on health care policy, including efforts to expand access to health care and improve public health. He was a strong advocate for universal health care and played a key role in the passage of several significant health care reforms in Oregon.
Legislation
Greenlick sponsored numerous bills aimed at improving public health and health care access. Some of his notable legislative efforts include:
- The establishment of the Oregon Health Authority.
- Legislation to regulate the use of e-cigarettes.

Personal Life
