Montgomery Square, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, also known as the Delaware Valley.

Geography

Montgomery Square is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, in the eastern part of Montgomery County. It is approximately 25 miles north of Philadelphia, the largest city in the state. The CDP is primarily residential, with a mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments.

History

The area now known as Montgomery Square was originally settled in the 18th century. It was named after Richard Montgomery, a general in the American Revolutionary War. The community grew slowly over the years, with significant growth occurring in the late 20th and early 21st centuries as the Philadelphia metropolitan area expanded.

Demographics

As of the 2010 United States Census, Montgomery Square had a population of approximately 1,600 people. The population is diverse, with residents of various ethnic and racial backgrounds. The community is primarily middle class, with a median household income above the state average.

Education

Montgomery Square is served by the North Penn School District, which operates several elementary, middle, and high schools in the area. The district is known for its strong academic programs and high graduation rates.

Transportation

Montgomery Square is served by several major roads, including U.S. Route 202 and Pennsylvania Route 309. Public transportation is provided by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), which operates bus routes in the area.
