Musician

Musician (/mjuːˈzɪʃən/) is a person who composes, conducts, or performs music. The term musician can be applied to a person who plays a musical instrument, as well as those who create music in other ways.

Etymology

The word "musician" comes from the Old French musicien, which in turn derives from the Latin musicus, meaning "musical". The Latin term was borrowed from the Greek mousikos, "pertaining to the Muses," the goddesses of art and science in Greek mythology.
