The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is the National Health Service (NHS) ambulance services trust responsible for providing emergency medical services and patient transport services in the North West region of England.

Overview

The North West Ambulance Service was formed on 1 July 2006, following the merger of four previous ambulance trusts: Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside, Cumbria, and Lancashire. This consolidation aimed to improve efficiency and service delivery across the region.

NWAS operates a fleet of emergency ambulances, rapid response vehicles, and patient transport vehicles. The service is responsible for responding to emergency 999 calls, providing urgent care, and transporting patients to and from healthcare facilities.
