Oneida County is a county located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 37,545. Its county seat is Rhinelander. The county was created in 1887 and named after the Oneida people, one of the Five Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1236 square miles (3,200 km²), of which 1113 square miles (2,880 km²) is land and 123 square miles (320 km²) (10%) is water. The county is known for its numerous lakes and forests, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities.
