Paul John (whisky)

Paul John is a single malt whisky produced in Goa, India by John Distilleries. The company was established in 1992 by Paul P. John, an Indian entrepreneur with a passion for high-quality spirits. The whisky is named after its founder and is known for its distinct character and smooth taste.

History

John Distilleries was initially known for producing other spirits, including brandy and rum. However, in 2008, the company decided to venture into the production of single malt whisky, resulting in the creation of Paul John whisky. The first bottles of Paul John were released in the UK in 2012, and the brand has since gained international recognition.

Production

Paul John whisky is made from Indian malted barley and is aged in charred American oak barrels. The whisky is distilled in traditional copper pot stills, similar to the method used in Scotland. The tropical climate of Goa accelerates the maturation process, resulting in a whisky with a unique flavor profile.
