Platelet derived growth factor

From WikiMD's WELLNESSPEDIA

Platelet derived growth factor - a family of growth factors that act as potent mitogens and are involved in the stimulation of angiogenesis. There are four members of this family (platelet derived growth factor a, b, c and d) that are characterized by a core motif of eight cysteines. They bind to their cognate receptor tyrosine kinases (platelet derived growth factor receptor family) as homodimers or heterodimers to stimulate signaling.
