History

Port Kennedy was established in the 19th century and was named after John P. Kennedy, a prominent politician and writer from Baltimore, Maryland. The community was a significant industrial center during the 19th and early 20th centuries, with industries such as limestone quarrying and lime production playing a crucial role in its economy.

Geography

Port Kennedy is located in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, in the eastern part of Montgomery County. It is situated along the Schuylkill River, which provides a natural boundary on one side. The community is primarily residential, with a mix of single-family homes and apartment buildings.
