Puyallup is a city located in Pierce County, in the U.S. state of Washington. It is situated about 10 miles southeast of Tacoma and 35 miles south of Seattle. The city is known for its annual Washington State Fair, which is one of the largest fairs in the country.
History
The name "Puyallup" comes from the Puyallup people, a Native American tribe who lived in the area. The word "Puyallup" means "the generous people." The city was incorporated in 1890 and has grown significantly since then.

Puyallup is located in the Puget Sound region of Washington. The city covers a total area of 14.04 square miles, of which 14.00 square miles is land and 0.04 square miles is water.
