Red Bank is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It is located on the Navesink River, the town is a center of commerce and culture in the region.
History
Red Bank was originally formed as a town on March 17, 1870, from portions of Shrewsbury Township. It was incorporated as a borough on March 10, 1908. The name "Red Bank" is believed to have been derived from the red soil along the Navesink River.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 5.7 square kilometers, of which 5.2 square kilometers is land and 0.5 square kilometers is water. Red Bank is bordered by the Navesink River to the north and is adjacent to Middletown Township, Fair Haven, and Little Silver.
