San Diego

San Diego (pronunciation: /ˌsæn diˈeɪɡoʊ/) is a city located on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate.

Etymology

The name "San Diego" comes from the Spanish name for Saint James, "San Yago". It was given by the Spanish explorer Sebastián Vizcaíno in 1602.
