Smuggling

Smuggling (/ˈsmʌɡlɪŋ/) is the illegal transportation of objects, substances, information or people, such as out of a house or buildings, into a prison, or across an international border, in violation of applicable laws or other regulations.

Etymology

The word smuggling is derived from the Old Norse 'smjúga', meaning 'to sneak'. The term was first used in the early 17th century.

Types of Smuggling

There are various types of smuggling, including Drug smuggling, Human smuggling, Weapon smuggling, and Wildlife smuggling. Each of these types involves the illegal transportation of specific goods or people.

Drug Smuggling

Drug smuggling involves the transportation of illegal substances such as narcotics and psychoactive drugs across borders. This is often done to evade laws and regulations prohibiting or limiting the possession, use, or distribution of these substances.

Human Smuggling
