University of Mumbai (also known as Mumbai University) is a collegiate, public state university located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is one of the oldest universities in India, established in 1857 during the British Raj. The University of Mumbai was established on 18 July 1857 by John Wilson, under the then British Government.
