Definition

Types of Work Accidents

Work accidents can be classified into several types, including:

  • Slip and Fall Accidents: These are the most common type of work accidents. They occur when a worker slips on a wet floor, icy sidewalks, or loose rugs.
  • Overexertion Injuries: These injuries occur when a worker is involved in lifting, pulling, pushing, or throwing something.
  • Machine Entanglement: This type of accident happens in factories where heavy equipment and machinery are used.
  • Vehicle Accidents: Workers who drive for business purposes are often involved in this type of accident.
  • Repetitive Motion Injuries: These are less obvious but can be very harmful over time. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a good example of a repetitive motion injury.
