Chris Costner Sizemore (pronounced: Kris Kost-ner Size-more) was an American woman who was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, previously known as multiple personality disorder.

Etymology

The name "Chris Costner Sizemore" is of English origin. "Chris" is a short form of "Christine", derived from the Greek "Christos" meaning "anointed". "Costner" is an English surname of occupational origin, referring to a "costardmonger" or seller of large apples. "Sizemore" is also an English surname, possibly derived from the Old English "sigemere", meaning "victory" and "famous".

Medical History

Chris Costner Sizemore is best known for her life as depicted in the book and film The Three Faces of Eve. She was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, a mental disorder characterized by the presence of two or more distinct personality states. Sizemore's case was one of the first to bring this disorder to the attention of the general public.
