Eric Hentges (pronunciation: Eh-rik Hen-jes) is a notable figure in the field of nutrition and food science. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of dietary guidelines and nutrient management.

Etymology

Eric Hentges served as the Executive Director of the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) North America from 2006 to 2018. Prior to this, he was the Executive Director of the USDA's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, where he led the development of the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the MyPyramid Food Guidance System.
