Jefferson Medical College (pronunciation: Jef-fer-son Med-i-cal Col-lege) is a renowned medical school based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1824 and is now known as the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, part of Thomas Jefferson University.

Etymology

The institution was named after Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, who was known for his advocacy of education and healthcare. The renaming to Sidney Kimmel Medical College in 2014 was in honor of philanthropist Sidney Kimmel, who made a significant donation to the university.
