A Medical Facility (pronunciation: /ˈmɛdɪkəl fəˈsɪlɪti/) is a location where medical care is provided. These facilities range from small clinics and doctor's offices to urgent care centers and large hospitals with elaborate emergency rooms and trauma centers.

Etymology

The term "Medical Facility" is derived from the Latin word facilitas, meaning "ease" or "facility", and the Greek word medikos, meaning "pertaining to healing".

  • Hospital: A hospital is a health care institution providing patient treatment with specialized medical and nursing staff and medical equipment.
