Aarti Sequeira (born August 19, 1978) is an Indian-American chef, television personality, cookbook author, and food blogger. She is best known for winning the sixth season of the reality television show Food Network Star.

Early Life and Education

Aarti Sequeira was born in Mumbai, India, and raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She attended a British-run school in Dubai, where she developed an interest in cooking and food. Sequeira later moved to the United States to attend Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she earned a degree in journalism.

Career

After graduating, Sequeira worked as a producer for CNN in Chicago and later in New York City. Despite her successful career in journalism, her passion for cooking led her to enroll in the New School of Cooking in Culver City, California.

Food Network Star

In 2010, Sequeira competed in and won the sixth season of Food Network Star, a reality television series on the Food Network. Her victory earned her a cooking show on the network, titled Aarti Party, which premiered in August 2010. The show focused on American dishes with Indian influences.

Other Television Appearances

Sequeira has appeared on several other television programs, including Guy's Grocery Games, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Chopped. She has also served as a judge on Guy's Grocery Games and Cooks vs. Cons.

Cookbook and Food Blogging

In addition to her television career, Sequeira is an accomplished cookbook author and food blogger. Her cookbook, Aarti Paarti: An American Kitchen with an Indian Soul, was published in 2014. She also runs a popular food blog, where she shares recipes, cooking tips, and personal stories.

Personal Life

Aarti Sequeira is married to actor Brendan McNamara, and they have two daughters. The family resides in Los Angeles, California.
