Allison Pearson (pronounced: /ælɪsən pɪərsən/) is a renowned British author and journalist, best known for her novels I Don't Know How She Does It and How Hard Can It Be?.

Etymology

The name Allison is of Old German origin, meaning "noble, exalted". Pearson is an English surname that means "son of Piers or Peter".

Biography

Allison Pearson was born in South Wales. She studied English at New College, Oxford. Pearson has worked for several major British newspapers, including The Independent and The Daily Telegraph. She has also been a regular columnist for The Evening Standard and The Daily Mail.

Works

Pearson's first novel, I Don't Know How She Does It, was an international bestseller, translated into 32 languages. It was later adapted into a film starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Her second novel, How Hard Can It Be?, is a sequel to her first book.
