Asians (/ˈeɪʒənz/; from Latin Asiaticus, "belonging to Asia") are the people from the continent of Asia, the largest and most populous continent in the world. The term is used to denote people who are native to Asia or people of Asian descent.

Etymology

The term Asians comes from the Latin word Asiaticus, which means "belonging to Asia". The term Asia itself is believed to have originated from the Ancient Greek word Ἀσία, possibly derived from the Akkadian word asu meaning "east" or "sunrise".

Demographics
