Bob Hugin

Bob Hugin is an American businessman and politician. He is best known for his role as the Executive Chairman of Celgene, a biotechnology company, and his 2018 run for the United States Senate from New Jersey.

Early Life and Education

Hugin was born in Union City, New Jersey. He attended Princeton University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics. He later earned an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

Career

Hugin began his career in finance, working for J.P. Morgan & Co. for 14 years. He then joined Celgene in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2006, and then to CEO in 2010. Under his leadership, Celgene became a leading biotechnology company.

In 2018, Hugin ran as a Republican candidate for the United States Senate from New Jersey. He was defeated by incumbent Democrat Bob Menendez.

Personal Life

Hugin is married and has three children. He is a resident of Summit, New Jersey.
