David Ludwig (physician)
David S. Ludwig is an American physician and researcher known for his work in the fields of nutrition, obesity, and endocrinology. He is a professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and a professor of nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Ludwig is also the co-director of the New Balance Foundation Obesity Prevention Center at Boston Children's Hospital.
Early Life and Education
David Ludwig was born in the United States. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University and earned his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and a fellowship in endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Career
Ludwig has focused his research on the effects of diet on hormones, metabolism, and body weight. He has been a vocal advocate for reducing the consumption of processed foods and sugar, and he has promoted the benefits of low-carbohydrate diets for weight management and metabolic health.
