Edible (/ˈɛdɪbəl/; from Latin edibilis, "that can be eaten") refers to anything that is safe to be consumed by humans and other organisms. The term is most often used to describe food that is fit for human consumption, but it can also apply to substances that can be eaten without harm by other creatures.
