Forrest Mars Jr. (August 16, 1931 – July 26, 2016) was an American businessman and heir to the Mars, Incorporated fortune. He was the son of Forrest Mars, Sr. and the grandson of Franklin Clarence Mars, the founder of Mars, Incorporated, one of the world's largest candy and pet food companies.

Early Life and Education

Forrest Mars Jr. was born on August 16, 1931, in Oak Park, Illinois. He was the eldest son of Forrest Mars, Sr. and Audrey Ruth (Meyer) Mars. He attended the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut, and later graduated from Yale University with a degree in industrial engineering.

Career

Forrest Mars Jr. joined the family business, Mars, Incorporated, and played a significant role in its expansion and success. Along with his siblings, John Mars and Jacqueline Mars, he helped to grow the company into a global powerhouse. Mars, Incorporated is known for its popular brands such as M&M's, Snickers, Milky Way, and Pedigree.
