The Texans compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) South division. The team was established in 2002, making it the youngest franchise currently competing in the NFL.
History
The Houston Texans were founded in 2002 as an expansion team, filling the void left by the departure of the Houston Oilers to Tennessee in 1997. The team's first owner was Bob McNair, who played a significant role in bringing an NFL team back to Houston. The Texans played their inaugural season in 2002 under head coach Dom Capers.
Stadium
