Imiquimod is used under the brand names Aldara and Zyclara to treat actinic keratosis (a skin condition that can become cancer) in adults with normal immune systems and to treat genital warts or perianal warts in adults and children 12 years and older. Imiquimod's Aldara brand is also used to treat superficial basal cell skin cancer in adults with normal immune systems. Imiquimod is also being studied to treat other diseases and cancers.
