Joel Fuhrman

Joel Fuhrman (pronounced /joʊl ˈfʊərmən/) is an American board-certified family physician, New York Times best-selling author and nutritional researcher who specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional and natural methods. He is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Etymology

The name Joel is of Hebrew origin, meaning "Yahweh is God". The surname Fuhrman is of German origin, meaning "furrier" or "fur trader".

Career

Fuhrman is the author of several books, including Eat to Live and The End of Dieting. His Nutritarian Diet, based on the principles of high nutrient consumption and plant-based foods, has been associated with weight loss and health benefits.
