Mirodenafil

Mirodenafil is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction. It is marketed under the brand name Mvix and is available in South Korea. Mirodenafil belongs to the PDE5 inhibitor class of drugs, which includes other erectile dysfunction treatments such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), and vardenafil (Levitra).

Pharmacology

Mirodenafil works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). This enzyme is responsible for the breakdown of cGMP, a substance that relaxes smooth muscles and increases blood flow. By inhibiting PDE5, mirodenafil allows cGMP to persist longer, thus prolonging erection.

Clinical Use

Mirodenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction. It is taken orally, usually one hour before sexual activity. The effects of the drug can last for up to 4-5 hours. Mirodenafil has been shown to be effective in treating erectile dysfunction in several clinical trials.

Side Effects

Common side effects of mirodenafil include headache, flushing, and nasal congestion. Less common side effects include dizziness, indigestion, and visual disturbances. Severe side effects are rare but can include an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours (priapism) and sudden loss of vision or hearing.
